firstly, i managed to get away with it. which is always nice.

It only takes a worthwhile topic, and you can go for hours.

The Deputy Head at school had a gift for essay titles. When you had a School Detention (one of the four or so classes of detention on offer) he would put a title on the board and you had to write a number of words / pages.

The only one I remember was "the mating cycle of the chimney pot". I only remember that one because it was the most sane one; the others are too wacky to hold in your head without causing brain damage.
