Today just feels round because the room is spinning. Everything will be flat again tomorrow...

With the lowering interest rates ?

Get a fixed rate when it drops a bit more

        I'm a doom-monger. I'm waiting for the imminent 30-40% drop in prices

In the history of the housing/property market. When have prices dropped.
They slow down and stagnate for a few years but never truly drop and never will. values will still increase to keep pace with interest.

If you're looking for a financial windfall - Yes

If you need a home to live in - give it 3 months, the rate will be at 5%. bargain

Early 80's a fair amount, early 90's lots, there's quite an interesting graph of average house prices over the years here

We're going to have to ride any fall in house prices

we need a bigger house now

It's not so bad if you're just moving up the ladder, as a first time buyer I don't want to see my entire hard-saved deposit wiped out as my property devalues...
