It was one leaf of a Lock gate. 250 ton each approx
The two gates close together to form a seal
There were six of them, I had already salvaged five and cut them up for scr@p
That was the last one. it was so full of silt it weighed in at over 350 ton (Imperial)
They were all built in 1914 and rusted so badly they were replaced over 50 years ago. they were towed into the dock and left to sink in an unused part of the docks
