The obvious choice. There's some photos from one of those urban explorer sites of the inside of it, but it's blocked here...

It seems the clock tower hasn't been damaged so that might be salvageable. I imagine, since it's listed, that's going to complicate matters for another 30-odd years till another fire happens...

An amusing little scene is taking place outside my window. The barriers which prevent egress from clientco's carpark have been stuck in the up position for some weeks, I know not why. Now it is windy and rainy, it's getting blown over, but doesn't seem to want to raise up again when a car approaches. The security man is having to come out of his hut to lift it. But there aren't enough cars to make it worth his while standing there in the rain full time, so he has to shuffle backwards and forwards every 5 minutes.

There are two of them now looking at it. They've got into the guts of it looking for the magic viagra like switch that's gonna keep it standing proud all night. I don't fancy their chances.

I was right. They have some rope. I hope they've factored in the leverage effect of only tying up the bottom of a ten foot pole in high winds....

They have. A counterweight of some roadworks style temporary fencing has been added to this masterpiece of improvised engineering. Which is a shame because it's not time to go home yet and it was entertaining me.
