                I was on a rig out in the bristol channel laying an outfall pipeline at Barry in south wales.
                Also tried to pull my own tooth once with pliers. never ever try this at home folks.
                Crushed tooth, exposed nerve and had to go to the hospital

                  Absolutely. Just let them break down of their own accord. No toothache ever lasts longer than 6 weeks - the nerves usually die off at about 2 weeks.
