Just watched "For the love of cars" on 4, all about the Triumph Stag.

They did a fairly fatuous rolling road test to see if the cooling system was up to par.

Which, oddly enough, with brand new coolant & topped up, it was.

I thought the principal problem was that the water pump went dry because it was located between the banks rather than at the bottom of the engine.
