Sounds like the work could be quite cathartic - getting to cut stuff up and use heavy machinery all day - bet there are a tomnne of safety measures you have to take - don't ewant the newbie being flattened by a massive chunk of freshly-cut steel.Comment

I went back to uni in the mid 90's and did my HND in computing (mature student). made a friend while there and went into partnership with him, setting up a support co. I sold the business on a few months ago to my manager, so I am out of IT now but too busy with the Marine Civils to look for anything else in IT at the moment.
