Went to nephew's wedding on Saturday afternoon.

Feck me, you wouldn't believe the ceremony.

75 pages of assorted Cymraeg & English, with the emphasis most definitely on the Cymraeg part.

Even included the Nicene Creed FFS.

The only hymn I recognized was "All things bright & beautiful" and even that had some weird arrangement no one had seen before.

Took nearly 2 fecking hours to get through it all.

Church Very High & not in an architectural way.

Parents are Very Low Church so it didn't altogether sit well. ROTFLMFAO.

Fortunately I think they missed the icons & the bits about the BVM.

Up & down like a whore's draws during the service, though thankfully didn't have to kneel.

All rounded off by my mother failing to recognize my niece. "Who are you? Are you Olwen's daughter?" etc.

    At which point we left.

10 minutes in a registry office would have been more fun.

Yep, there are two arrangements for it. One, everyone knows; the other, no-one knows apart from the organist (if you are lucky).

            So why choose that one??

              Coz it's my nephew.

              He's a little odd.

And the reason the other 75% of hymns & psalms were Yng Nghymraeg.

Which didn't exactly go down well with the monoglot english speakers.

Anyway, thank feck that's over. and thrice .

'ere wot's happened to the mutation after "yn" then?

When I were a little lizard, it would definitely have been "yng Nghymraeg".

And apparently that agrees with me.
