Email from client tonight - they are discussing whether the work is a capitalisable project or not.

If it is, then there's four months of work.

If it isn't, then there's nothing.

Don't know whether the client wasn't telling the agent the truth, or the agent wasn't telling me the truth to be honest.

Have emailed the agent to say "WTF?!?!?!"

Stupidly, I've priced myself out of something which is reasonably local because I was almost certain that this one would come off.

The really stupid thing is that they know they need to do the work, and they know that they have no-one that can do the work.

So, they either have to fudge through and try to hack their way round a system that I had problems designing the solution, or not implement what the business needs to do.

Needless to say, I have not shared my design for one important part of the solution with them, since they aren't paying for it.

Get back to them at a lower quote. explain that your contractor insurance was misquoted or some other carp that drove your price up.

worth a try if they haven't taken on somebody else

I think they're more likely to balk at the four week holiday I've got planned in 61 days (and counting....)

We have two holidays - two weeks in France with friends and their kids, then back for two days, then MrsF and I are off to America while the girls go to their grandparents for ten days.
