Just tried to install AVG free on a pc in the project room.
It's not on the network.
Naturally, the latest version of AVG Free requires authenication over the web.
I may dig out an older version & try that.
The problem you are going to have is maintaining the updates on the system. Why not connect it to the network for a one-time installation and download the updates either daily or 3 times a week to keep it up to date?

Updates are no problem.
You just download them & run the Update from directory thingie.
I used to do that a couple of years ago.
P.S. I don't know how to connect stuff to the network.
