They aren't going out atm, currently renting so the landlords have said we can only put a cat flap in, if we put a brand new door in and replace the old one.

So having looked at the costs , decided until such time as we buy a place they would have to stay indoors

Luckily the house is huge over 3 floors, so they have lots of runaround space.

Buy a new door that you like with a cat flap in it. Put that one in and keep the old one safe. When you move, swap them back again, and take the new one with you. That way, your new place will have a door you know you like, with a cat flap already fitted.
