Brought in a Dataman S4 programmer to read the EEPROM out of one of the esteemed customer's projects.

Naturally enough, it doesn't know anything about that one (24c256) coz the library is about 12 years old.

So, download an updated library from Dataman.

Easy.

which requires a 27C256 eprom.

Not so easy.

Eventually found two in an old 286 mother board.
