            I grew up with everything being boiled or cremated, so hated beef, then someone introduced me to the concept of "rare" steaks, never looked back since.

                I'm getting there slowly - when in France she will get a steak bien cuit, which is pretty medium by English standards!

                In England, I'll order it rare. In France, medium (and sometimes have to explain that I want it a French medium rather than an English one, please!)
