            DD1 is having a tough time choosing her options.

            She wants to do Art and Graphics, but is being advised by Maths, Science teachers to take Engineering.

            So I've contact the school and we are going to look around both departments and then decide.

              there aren't any girls on the eng course at present. However I don't think that would put her off.

                More doors would open with engineering, however its an intensive option. whereas art might give her a break from the text book and help her relax a touch

                      Maybe I'd be a bad parent... let her do what she finds interesting or easy. With GCSEs it is quantity, not quality, that counts. And what you do your degree in has little to do with the job you get. (Except for law and medicine, of course.)
