I've discovered why the AGC is screwed.

The opamps are saturating.

Just as well I designed it with separate rails for the RF (is 60kHz rf?) bit & the opamp bit.

Having reduced the supply voltage to the rf bits to a mere 5V, it now works much betterer.

They offered me a 6 month renewal but when I got taken off my well run project and given project "poisoned Chalice" I told then i wasn't renewing as they would not let me run the project properly, this thing was dead in the water and has continued to fail left right and centre.

Have plenty of warchest and could do with a bit of a break.
