Ctrl-K-B to mark the start, Ctrl-K-K to mark the end, Ctrl-K-Y to delete.
"B" and "K" are the beginning and end of the word "BLOCK", which explains them; and the "Y" stood for "YANK" (as in pull, not as in Merkin).
