It amazes me how much gets spent up upgrading systems and column inches on performance issues and yet there's barely ever a performance analysis / fix gig to be seen.

I know others have tried relying on it as their main source of income; it's hard. Business will pay £400K for upgrades but not £4k on advice on how another £4k could achieve the same end.
