Phew, thought I'd buggered my mobile broadband connection by installing a new firmware on my dongle (great word that). This new firmware supposedly allows me to take advantage of network speeds up to 7.2mbps

And I think I've finally managed to suss out why my connection on Three was NAT'ed while others weren't - it's down to the APN. I've always used "three.co.uk" (the more reliable one that Nick mentioned a while back) which would appear to subject the connection to NAT, while the (less reliable) APN of "3internet" doesn't. Or something.
