I much preferred Eclipse to NetBeans when I had a brief (well, 3 year) flirtation with Java development. I'm not sure whether it's still the case but the Eclipse UI was more responsive since it was developed using the SWT UI library, closely tied to the native windowing system of the host platform. From a purely eye-candy perspective this also gave it a more platform consistent look and feel than an application developed in SWING (yuk!) - although the latter has now improved in this respect I think.Where are we going?
