However, my direct entry student has hand crafted some piece of crap off the interweb thingie that I can't understand and uses modes of interconnection that are somewhat unfamiliar to me...

It'd be nice if they realised the difference between numbers and labels...
1 is not the same as one...
Though the assembler may or may not complain depending on where you use it....
GOTO 1 is undoubtedly a classic...
