Bit of a hybrid. Mostly functional but do some PM every now and again.

It's the diagrams old son that need to be redone as well. Visio makes my head hurt!

Ah! Yes - that could take some time.

Depends what they are, process stuff in Visio is OK, bit basic but easy to do and change.

Entity relationship diagrams, UML etc - a right PITA

Busy with design documents for Oracle Apps. Not using AIM but consultancy implementation methodology. Documents say everything and nothing all at once.

Most consultancy documents I've seen say nothing, but cost a lot.

I worked with Accenture on a project once - after 8 months of them being there, they produced a room full of documents and an idea that the client should "Build a business to business exchange" - which is what the client told them at the start! No details of what they should try to sell there, or anything like that, but plenty of paper used...

My next project (next week) is hybrid technical-functional role. I'm told it's 70% technical, which is a bit of a relief to be honest.

Easy to BS people technical stuff if they haven't got a clue themselves. Functional not as easy to pull the wool over peoples eyes in most cases.
