            Friday morning always seems to be lighter than the rest of the week, probably as so many people take the day off.

            When I was regularly driving round the west side of the M25, it was the day I always whizzed through non-stop in the morning rush hour.

            Which makes me wonder why Friday afternoons are so horrendous. If fewer people went to work, why are so many more coming home?
