Very quiet here too - to which my presence on TPD today will testify
Hoping the journey home isn't going to be too bad. You got far to go?
Nah, not too far, about 20 miles, almost all of which is on the M4. It's also stopped snowing for the time being so looking OK to get home. Still a good excuse to nip off early tho
Where are those plastic boxes of grit which the council use to put on the sides of certain roads gone?
Been snowing here since about 14:30 Just looked out of my bedroom window and the Xmas tree farm looks pretty
Know what you mean about those grit bins. There used to be one just at the top of our road, and one year a neighbour and I emptied it to clear the entire hill. Shortly after that the council removed it.
They also have other uses: a former colleague of mine was so pissed one night that he couldn't get the key in his front door, so he slept in the grit bin just outside his house.
Bet that Christmas tree farm looks really cool - get some photos!

Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

Yeah, time to head off I reckon before it gets mad later on. I remember that snowfall on a Friday a few years back when it was taking people 6 - 7 hours to drive out of Birmingham.

I remember the one about 2 years ago - however I drove back from Nottingham and beat a couple of the neigbours making it back from the city centre.
Also B'ham was in totally grid-lock about 4 years ago - that really was bad took 6 1/2 hrs to do the 12 miles home or is that the one you are on about?

That one 4 years ago sounds about right - my neighbour is a lecturer at UCE and it took him 7 hours to get back to Redditch that night.
