feckersRugby screen is banned from town
The town of Rugby in Warwickshire cannot put up a large television screen to show the Rugby World Cup semi-finals, police have ruled.
Town leaders wanted to use the England v France match to attract tourists to Rugby, believed to be the game's home.
However, Warwickshire Police told borough councillors they had concerns over the safety of so many people gathering in one place.
The council has now said it is looking at other ways to promote the event.
It said that if England beat France in Saturday's semi-final the town would definitely celebrate the victory in some form.
William Webb Ellis is reported to have invented the game at The Close at Rugby School in 1823.How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment

Carbon Tet? I'm sure I used that in my yoof to kill the butterflies and such that I collected. It can't do people any good.Comment

butterfly death is never a good thing.
CERRO SAN ANDRES - Just before the annual Monarch butterfly festival in February, Rodolfo Fuentes, the cultural director for the town of Maravat in Michoacan state, hiked up steep San Andres mountain searching for hibernating butterflies to show them to a group of visitors.
To his horror, high on the mountain, in a grove of trees surrounded by signs of fresh logging and by the devastation of an earlier wildfire, he found no colony of living butterflies, only an orange-and-black carpet of thousands upon thousands of dead butterflies 50 yards (metres) wide by 200 long.Comment
