Except now they want a letter from my accountant proving I've been director of myco for Xyrs... and I have to draft something up for an accountant to sign. The conversation went something along the lines of: 'So you need proof from an accountant I've been working for YOURCO as a contractor via Agency X for X years... Why don't you just speak to your staff?' 'Ah, it's process, you see... has to be a letter from an accountant.' 'Can't you get your own accounts dept to confirm this? Or the agency's?' 'Nope'.
