Yeap - Got that one which will start in the new year - Still not sure however. I think I have a good chance of a 3 month contract which I will know about on Monday.
Is that the one in Bridgenorth?
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?
It occurred to me last night that the client didn't make any notes - we just chatted, really. However, there was some other guy after me, and as we all know, people tend to have stuff crowded out of their head by new information, potentially leaving me at some disadvantage in the memory stakes.
So I'm going to send him an email - just the usual "Thanks for seeing me, if your techy guy has any additional questions he can email me or call, blah blah" stuff, the idea being that this will get his memory focused back on me. If I send it on Sunday evening, so that he sees it either just before he goes to sleep or when he starts work on Monday, it should get me back to the front of his mind as he makes his deliberations.
Cunning, eh?
Cunning and stoat-like - good plan.

Are they asking you to be an employee of the agency, rather than just contracting through them? I know a few chaps on similar arrangements - seems to the worst of all worlds to me.
Probably wise to stay clear of JLR for now as you say.
Yeap - you are the employee of the agency and they can basically place you anyway within 50 miles of your home. What I hate is I had already got this role ( which was put on hold) as a true contract, now they say it is only available if I work through them.

Yeah, stay clear of that arrangement - from what I hear they'll treat you like an employee when it suits them to (i.e. salary) and as a contractor when it suits them to (i.e. no training, benefits, and out the door as soon as the work finishes).
I think I might know the agency concerned!
A friend of mine (a very, very good DBA) got similarly shafted by an agency for a contract at JLR - had a good rate accepted, then the agency backed down and tried to reduce the rate by 50%.

Sounds a bit like the one I had - they told me want they wanted really - was more like an informal meeting then a interview - I gave them a few ideas how I would play things and they seemed to like them - Fingers crossed.

Firstly conrats, and secondly fingers crossed for the Monday one.

The agency is the one that comes after Winter and before Summer.
