Sounds like he's not affected at all then. I think a lot of smaller outfits are feeling the pinch at the moment though.

very very much. he has been incredibly lucky. not that a builder like him will ever be out of work. he is on time and on budget - builds quality and gets good reviews. how many builders are like that?

Few and far between. I feel sorry for the chaps that did our loft conversion - they rely on people getting mortgage extensions to fund most of their work, so projects have pretty much dried up.

We had a loft conversion - so did people over the road. Our builder nearly cried when he saw the poor workmanship. Now it is an eyesore - I would never buy a house with a wonky roof!
