I wish we had put carpet down in our loft conversion... the floor is bloody freezing..
Also wish we never wall/ceiling/floor tiles in ensuite.. that is like a fridge.
I know what you mean - sometimes think I'm old school in preferring carpet, but it's just warmer in bathrooms and bedrooms. Wooden flooring was essential in our dining room though given the amount of food that finds it's way on to the floor.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

Aye, that is the downside, but the bathrooms and bedrooms tend to get less "shoe" traffic so it's not too much of an issue.
Ours kids have less coughs etc since they have had the carpets removed.
At present we are waiting for delivery of new dining table and the old one went at the weekend so we are using a pasting table. Not the most stable of things but at least its a table.
