Discovered today why one of my cctv cameras had ceased working.

When the branch fell off the tree onto the garage roof about 2 months ago, it broke the connecting wire.

And burned out the camera psu.

Ho hum.

Camera was ok once I'd repaired the wire though.

Maplin are selling a little colour camera with infrared leds.

It's £19.99 at the moment.

I bought a couple and amazingly enough, the ir works... I'm quite impressed.

Had to change the lens though, for the one that came off a defunct b&w camera, because the one fitted didn't have a wide enough angle.

Took them down when I installed the new colour low light & sound system.
