my very first day on my very first job in IT was in the united states (my first time there too)
after a quick introduction round the office the one showing me round tells me he is stepping out for a quick ciggy. so, here i am left standing in the office with a blank look on my face (nothing new there) and up wonders one of the people i have just been introduced to:
"where's so and so" he asks.
"oh - he's out smoking a fag" i blithely said
