I am still umming and ahhing (I think I will show my interest and settle) BUT was wondering if I don't show my interest before 31st May 2018 what will happen? Will I then not have the opportunity to settle at all and then have to wait for the loan charge to come into effect in April 2019? Or will it be I will be able to settle but just maybe not on the terms that HMRC are offering right now? Any thoughts?

I think on the webinar the actual statement was that after 31st may to register and sept to provide information. They could not guarantee that you would have time to sign for settlement and therefore would be caught by the LC.
This implying that if you have met those 2 dates they would guarantee to have a settlement offer for you to sign before the LC.
Not sure what the guarantees are... -
I am still trying to get my finances sorted in order to calculate how much I think I am going to owe. I am just worried that if I miss the deadline date, I won't have a chance to settle and it will go down under the LC19Comment

You only have to register by the end of may. Providing details deadline is the end September. HMRC will then need to calculate etc so I'd expect it to be 2019 before you need to decide yes or no.Originally posted by CaitlinD View PostI am still trying to get my finances sorted in order to calculate how much I think I am going to owe. Right, so in theory I could register my interest but then not actually action it? So maybe best to show interest before the deadline date and then decide from there?Comment
