You should receive a unique reference number along with your settlement pack, so I would ensure you have one of those for 100% certainty.

I got the settlement pack but no unique ref number! Does this mean I am not registered? I was told by the HMRC official to submit the pack by 31 May. Will I get the ref number after submission of settlement pack?
