I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code). -

Can I post the letter on here so you can see the full context of it ?
See their own data protection statement... Asking you to opt out of them giving your personal details to a 3rd party ffs.Comment

DP Act violation
I also received the letter asking if I'd like to participate which so far I have ignored. However last week I got a call from the research company so HMRC have obviously passed across all our details without permission.
If this isn't a flagrant breach of the data protection act I don't know what is (also the taxpayers charter)
Given the high profile this type of thing has in the news of late I think i might well reply to their original letter !!Comment

I’d imagine that they are firing off these letters before GDPR comes into effect in May."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Does not opting out constitute consent to pass on your contact details by default?
Surely their stance should be "if you want to take part in the survey, contact us..."Comment
