Before we got involved, I thought they were all too frightened of Uday and Qusay's plastic shredder to show any signs of dissent. -
Another city has fallen to ISIS - Tikrit.
They are small in number but seemed to have adapted after getting their asses whooped in Syria.Comment

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Draws attention away from Ukraine.Originally posted by Gittins Gal View PostHmmm...interesting.
I'm surprised the Telegraph is bigging it up so much.
I thought this is the kind of thing the establisment media drones like to brush under the carpet because it shows what an awful mess we've made from getting involved. Libya falls into this bracket too.Comment

It is interesting that - because if you ractchet it down a notch and then look at some companies whose exec have simply no interest in the human beings that work for the company other than what they can do to earn the execs more money.Originally posted by zeitghostI didn't say it was funny, but it summed up his attitude & that of scumbags like Hitler & Mao to a tee.
Sometimes at least these dictators were honest in their view of human life - unlike many of today's 'ethical business leaders'

You cannot compare the total bodycount of 30 years of Saddam with one week of these insurgents.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostSaddam?
He murdered 100s of 1000s not 10s. What has happened in Iraq is actually just a fraction of what Saddam used to do.
What this 'invasion' threatens is turning Iraq into a militant islamic state, far more dangerous to world than Saddam, which is something Saddam had prevented during his reign.
The area is uncontrollable by us, so it was best left to its own devices with strong men like Saddam, unpleasant as they are, keeping a tin lid on people much worse than he was.Comment
