Seems to be mini states of al qaeda appearing not only in Syria but now also in Iraq. Could happen to Jordan, Lebanon (already kind of happened) and elsewhere.

          This is not good.
I'm more worried about one happing in Luton, Bradford, Birmingham etc
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Iraq is a cess pit. It needs a dictator to hold the country together.

Why can't they become part of the Empire?

The children and innocents who are victims of this have nothing to do with the politics in the region. Same can be said about those suffering in Syria. The only state within Iraq is the green zone (which I have been to btw), outside of that it is complete anarchy.

                      Saddam?

He murdered 100s of 1000s not 10s. What has happened in Iraq is actually just a fraction of what Saddam used to do.
