Fair answers. But can UKIP start to appeal to an urban, cosmopolitan elite without losing their current supporters?Originally posted by vetran View Postby showing how their policies can improve their life in other ways. If they serve well and with passion as councillors they may well change minds.
By patiently exposing lies & cover ups throughout the country, they are in the great position they aren't responsible for any situations in local councils and its politically wise for them to get in there and do a lot of whistle blowing.
There was a lot of mud slung against UKIP, I'm hoping most of it doesn't deserve to stick.
Remember many at the bottom financial end voters were migrants themselves who had carved out a reasonable living on just above minimum wage, they are slowly being replaced by cheaper labour.
Many were the middle class in their own countries and cannot understand the benefit culture, they would prefer they didn't have to subsidise a workless class. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

Except they don't. The half a million figure is the total number of people coming in to the UK, which includes both British people returning from abroad and the many foreigners who only stay for a short time. About 450,000 non-British people arrive and 180,000 move on every year, making the number of those "settling" somewhat closer to half the figure Mr Farage quoted.Originally posted by vetran View PostPity the Beeb & ONS agree with himWhile you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you.
