So why don't people emulate the 'cultured and educated' instead of whining about them?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

There was a lot of mud slung against UKIP, I'm hoping most of it doesn't deserve to stick.

Remember many at the bottom financial end voters were migrants themselves who had carved out a reasonable living on just above minimum wage, they are slowly being replaced by cheaper labour.

Many were the middle class in their own countries and cannot understand the benefit culture, they would prefer they didn't have to subsidise a workless class.
Fair answers. But can UKIP start to appeal to an urban, cosmopolitan elite without losing their current supporters?

Well yes, I agree with Margaret Thatcher on aspiration.

That's disingenuous and you know it.
The Gaussian distribution of intelligence ensures 50% of people are unsuited for a knowledge economy.
That's the root of the problem we're discussing.
What some populist politicians have discovered, post manufacturing, is that this is a new demographic to exploit.
            Hard Brexit now!

Except they don't. The half a million figure is the total number of people coming in to the UK, which includes both British people returning from abroad and the many foreigners who only stay for a short time. About 450,000 non-British people arrive and 180,000 move on every year, making the number of those "settling" somewhat closer to half the figure Mr Farage quoted.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

If they can show competence in managing capitalism and social liberalism then they will (I doubt they can)

Due to Labour crashing the economy - that figure will fall drastically in the next few years assuming the Tories are allowed to finish the job they started

It was a mistake to allow a semi-3rd world country to join Europe.
