Isn't Bill Gates the model for this, spend money on something like fighting malaria that will save lives around the world rather than vanity projects
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Isn't that just a vanity project on a much grander scale?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Who cares if it's a vanity project if it helps the fight against malaria?

Vanity is a sin, so someone must care.

Indeed. But we can't all fight malaria, so some of us need to get a park bench named after us.

No I actually think its based on compassion not need for glory.

Bill Gates could have just sat in a Mansion and still be more famous & admired than most of us.

The use of the Name probably opened doors.

I've got a bridge named after me.
