I was in Liverpool last month for the first time since the 80's - the centre had changed an awful lot (for the better) but still wouldn't make me want to live there

Lol, I was impressed by some of the wealth about when I was there. Some nice restaurants. Though if I was going to live near there would look at west kirby and not the city centre.
