The UK is in a strong position to negotiate trade agreements. It is a huge market for many continental firms. The UK is in fact the rest of the EU’s largest single export market, larger even than the US. Moreover, the rest of the EU’s trade balance with the UK is decidedly positive; it exports more to the UK than the UK exports to the rest of the EU. The EU are not going to cut their noses off to spite their faces.

As for overseas companies using the UK as their door to Europe this is unlikely to change as these companies will still have access to EU markets and the English language to make them stay.
How long will it take to negotiate with Europe? It won't be business as usual on day one.

This was quite funny, well a bit silly really. From a chap in South Devon to his local Ukip candidate (who seems to live in Preston, is there one near Weymouth?)

      Part 1:

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Very good, the trouble though is this; while net migration may indeed be very low, people feel that it's high. How are parties supposed to deal with that feeling?

Is it the type of people leaving vs the type of people coming into the UK?

I don't know. To start with you'd need a breakdown of who's leaving and who's arriving. The trouble is, the studies on recent arrivals suggest they're mostly working and are mostly net contributors; that's why I say there's a problem of feeling, or perception. Even if most arrivals are working and contributing, some people percieve them to be milking the benefits system or 'jumping the housing queue'. That perception might be harder to deal with than it is to simply quote figures.

                    sort of makes the point.

Comes to the point some schools seem to be putting all of the 10% white kids in the photos to add contrast.

Walk down the high street anywhere round Slough / Hayes etc and hearing English is a surprise.

What point? A large amount of immigration from the commonwealth after the war?
