    Thank god for that! I don't know much about database work generally as the question probably revealed but my current contract is writing a tool in Access. It's ok for a small job as you can find ways round the bugs but I could just imagine the scene in a doctor's surgery - "sorry we can't get your records as it keeps going into VBA debug mode for no obvious reason. Hang on while we run a repair and compact on this 5 billion terrabyte file will you?"

      Access is no more database than Excel is.

      Think dBase II was better than both of them.

          Access is a joke >large parts are sql server,oracle or dbase depending on the cluster. my project team did do something using csv and odbc at the trials. Newchurch subsequently won some large bids only to stuff it up later by never sticking to one method or idea long enough.
