News, the Sun, the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail face paying damages to a London council worker after wrongly identifying her as a suspect in the alleged terror bomb plot to blow up passenger planes.
The media organisations have apologised after publishing and broadcasting pictures of Koser Zaman, 24, a British citizen and employee of the City of London borough council, mistakenly identifying her as Cossor Ali, who has been arrested in connection with the suspected bomb plot.
One of Ms Zaman's lawyers at David Price Solicitors & Advocates said today that following the apologies Ms Zaman will be pursuing damages claims from the newspapers and ITV.
Ms Zaman, who was never arrested by police, attended Walthamstow Girls' School where Cossor Ali also reportedly attended.
"Our client is appalled that this serious mistake has been made in so many different media outlets," said a spokeswoman from David Price.
"She wants to make it quite clear that she strongly disagrees with terrorism."
The Sun published an apology today, while the Daily Mail, Daily Mirror and ITV News apologised yesterday.
Several other newspapers that used Ms Zaman's pictures have yet to apologise.
