Actually it's a smart move, you're getting £70 tax-free for under an hour's "effort", plus if like me you are voluntarily benched over the summer, you just need to apply for a couple of jobs totally outside your skillset every 2 days (just DON'T tick the box that permits them access to your work-search history) lace your summertime covering letters with lots of "Contract only" (the idiots at the JC won't know how great a deterrent a contractor is for perm sh*t) then just field the odd phone call that your half-hearted efforts solicit with the smarmiest tone possible.
