You mean you don't know for certain that you got a kicking or perhaps it was something like this?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

It's unbelievably sad - as the Dad of a toddler I find these deaths really tragic.

If you look closely on the link NickFitz posted, you can see tributes to the children on top of the Grey Traffic light control box.

The woman was talking on the phone (using her hands free) and speeding. She was hit by a Mini driven by a bloke who had run the red light (this bloke has since died of an unrelated cause).

Accordingly, she was convicted of careless driving, given a 3K fine and an 18 month ban.

If you wish to debate about how we should change the law to be more focused on outcomes, then let's have that debate.

As to the assertion that Polish origin of the kids was a factor, take a look at this -

Death-crash driver Sarah Ryan was 'dazzled by headlights', court hears | Leicester Mercury

The dead man in that case wasn't Polish.

And if you want to start throwing stones -

Many Poles in the UK, even my good builders, seem to have alcohol problems. And I've noticed when driving through the less salubrious corners of London, groups of Poles drinking on the streets, whatever the weather. WTF is that about? Is it to avoid pub prices? or some strange Polish macho custom?

Good Lord. Now that is something you could never possibly level against any of the indigenous population residing in the "less salubrious corners" of our towns and cities.
Jeezus wept, just when you appear to have fully plummed the depths of stupidity, you gormless fizzer reappears with fresh muck adorning it and a slackjawed grin of accomplishment.

Oh the irony. Probably lost on you though.
I'm well aware that you see indigenous tramps and the homeless huddling together for a tinny.
But this is different, these are working people who choose to socialise on the streets, when their British counterparts would be in pubs.
It's a new phenomenon, in London anyway, that didn't occur before EU migration.

They do tend to get pissed though:

Polish farmer Krystof Azninski, who staked a strong claim to being Europe's most macho man by cutting off his own head in 1995. Azninski, 30, had been drinking with friends when it was suggested they strip naked and play some "men's games". Initially they hit each other over the head with frozen turnips, but then one man upped the ante by seizing a chainsaw and cutting off the end of his foot. Not to be outdone, Azninski grabbed the saw and, shouting "Watch this then," he swung at his own head and chopped it off. "It's funny," said one companion, "when he was young he put on his sister's underwear. But he died like a man."
Personally I like the whacking over the head with turnips, sounds like something they do in Norfolk :-)
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
