Would you prefer she was a shop floor greasemonkey fixing injection moulding machines? While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.' -
Was chatting to one of the firms at ms#5's career evening. The 18 year olds do the same accountancy quals as the graduates, but over a longer period. Sounds like a very attractive alternative to uni and £50K debt.Originally posted by SueEllen View Post
Anyway some of the large accounting firms are taking on apprentices - 18 year olds with good A levels.Comment

I did an “apprenticeship”: worked full time whilst doing my degree on day release, all company funded.
There are more women in construction these days, in the past 9 years I have only had 3 or so comments about my gender on site: building sites are less sexist than the high street on a Friday night.
Growing old is mandatory
Growing up is optionalComment

I did similar, although it wasn't called an apprenticeship. Started work at 17, did day release for HND.Originally posted by Halo Jones View PostI did an “apprenticeship”: worked full time whilst doing my degree on day release, all company funded.

I started work on the market when I was 14, and I can still sell cauliflowers 2 for a pound to unsuspecting old ladies who didn't actually want a cauliflower at all, a skill that has served me well when selling the benefits of working from home to reluctant clients. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. from one of the accountancy schemes I saw I think a degree was also included.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostWas chatting to one of the firms at ms#5's career evening. If I was 18 at the moment I would be moving everything to get on one of those schemes rather than uni as you would end up at least £80k better off.merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment
