By saying that male condemnation of the practice doesn't mean it's not a feminist issue means that you are creating a divide that you are trying to prevent which, in my opinion, is half the problem.
Where is the divide? I am saying that when a critique of oppression of women reaches broad acceptance, that is a good thing. Like with marital rape and the denial of voting rights to women. And rules that used to see women lose their jobs upon marriage. Etc. etc. These are all feminist issues.

As for the don't wear pink brigade. I think there are some useful ideas in there. Some feminists will be too insistent on the idea for my tastes, but overall, having these ideas out there is a good thing. Just ignore the more extreme elements, as an inevitable consequence of a broad progressive movement.

If an issue is taken up as 'feminist' you are, by default, excluding half the population from the start - I am not saying that many of the issues that have been addressed should not have been, I just think that the feminist extremist are doing women any favours

Ah, so you hate feminist extremists, not feminists.

(BTW, men can be feminist too)

                      From Wikipedia

Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment. A feminist advocates or supports the rights and equality of women.
So anyone (male or female) who believes that women should have equal rights and opportunities is a feminist.
