It depends where you are starting from. For some people it's just a case of pumping the tyres up and going, for others it's a little harder. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.' -
I haven't worn out my lovely Vittoria ones yet. I might get my road bike out later. Just to look at it mind, not to ride itOriginally posted by Alias View PostGet some free tyres here
From 15th May until July 31st, Continental are running a special promotion to celebrate the introduction of our new Grand Sport Race tyre. We want keen cyclists to try these tyres out for free! All we ask in return is that you hand over your old tyres (any non Continental brand) and that you also provide us with some feedback on your experiences
We're offering both the 700x23 & 700x25 sizes of the tyre, plus two inner tubes, with a total market value of £71.88
Hope that Helps any of you?

Looks a great offer - 700x25 too skinny for my current steed I think!Originally posted by Alias View PostGet some free tyres here

55 miles with a nice Chilterns lump in the middle. THe pub in Wallingford was shut
so I had to stand in Waitrose carpark consuming a very bland sandwich.
Had intended to do Oxford to Reading, but only one train back an hour and I missed it by 5 minutes, so cycled home. Probably the fastest bit of the ride on account of the roads actually having something that could pass as tarmac.Last edited by mudskipper; 25 May 2014, 14:10.Comment

I do wonder about the state of roads L2B. Alot of water damage this year all over the country.Comment

Yep - NCN route 5 is mostly paths rather than roads up to Wallingford. They were in a terrible state - I think the tops had been washed away. The roads between Wallingford and Reading are very quiet roads, huge potholes, lifted tarmac, bits washed away. You certainly wouldn't want to tackle them at any speed (that's my excuse anyway!).Originally posted by BrilloPad View Post

Got sunburnt - it was cloudy so didn't even think about it.Comment

Round London they have done alot of resurfacing over the last year. Outside the M25 there is very little - not good. A chance for the government to put some money into something constructive.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostYep - NCN route 5 is mostly paths rather than roads up to Wallingford.
