Well that passage is quite obviously wrong as I could point to the children of several idol worshippers who were not punished by God for the sins of their fathers. Neither were their grandchildren and so on to the 4th generation.

In fact the ones I know prospered and were happy.

There you go, conclusive proof that the Bible is pants.
