No you are right.... The Americans send the mines to the Israelis to drop on Lebanese women and children.

I want to know what Mel Philips has to say on it all.

Did you see her on QT when she went on an extraordinary frothing at the mouth tirade about Iran? It's on YouTube somewhere. Anyhow, that's the reason she was fired from the Daily Mail apparently so I'll never know as she has no mouthpiece at present.

Iran to send warships to Atlantic for 1st time - CBS News

Iran aims to demonstrate the ability to project its military power across the Middle East and beyond. It has regularly deployed warships to the Gulf of Aden off the eastern coast of Africa to fight piracy and protect commercial ships.
Tuesday’s announcement comes a day after the United Nations withdrew an invite to Iran to participate in a peace conference in Geneva aimed at finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria.
It's not the fact they are in manoevres in the Atlantic per se, it's the timing of it. And while America is currently making epic schoolboy diplomatic failings in Geneva with regards to the Syria issue, it's a heady mix which could escalate.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

There will be no escalation - mark my words.

Iran is not stupid, it knows the US army is far far superior to ever middle eastern army combined x 10,000. At most it could be seen as posturing, the US knows that Iran knows this, so it's all a show.

I said it for a reason. What's happening is completely irrelevant.

OK so in your mind is there other relevant stuff which could cause a Middle East escalation?

Very possibly - look to Israel and their constant warmongering, or Syria and Iraq where the "rebels" are now in fact all Al-Qaeda....

You'd think we'd have learn our lesson from Iraq, I don't really get westerns governments desire to depose Assad
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

There is no desire to depose him or they would have done it already. You think the US fears the UN for Christ's sake? They realised the status quo is the best option for Israel - Al-Qaeda fighting Iran and it's allies. They realised that keeping Asad/Iran as a power in the region also helps in the real fight against terrorism and in keeping Saudi (the funders of terrorism around the world) in check. I still don't get why the media makes no fuss about what Saudi are doing...
