Happy Xmas people. All went off OK, champers and wine, turkey and trimmings. 8/10, good enough for a hungover cuk-er with 4 hours kip. Crying shame about the parsnips though. Sitting vegetating with beers now, kids to bed soon then cards an whisky

We had goose, and our parsnips were perfect. My son did the cooking.

We played it safe with rack of venison with mashed carrots and parsnips. Would have roasted them but having a minuscule one shelf oven it wasn't possible.

I over did them. Always struggle with the timings cos roast spuds take longer. Wasn't room for them in the turkey pan which would have solved the issue. Was a huge one wot I growed by myself too.
In later culinary adventures, I had some of Barry Norman's pickled onions. Anyone had some? Feck me they're like the first onion you eat as a kid - uber spicy. Jury's out on them cos of all the booze so i'll just have to retry today :
